Born and raised in the desert scapes of New Mexico, Lauren finds much of her artistic inspiration from her roots in the Southwestern United States. She spent her summers growing up between Albuquerque and Abiquiu, New Mexico, painting the unscathed and unchanged scenes of mountains and rivers, frozen in times, mostly untouched by modern construction. Imagining life for hundreds and thousands of years in these solitary places. The prickly pear, gallantly clothed in a crown of bright flowers, the desert sagebrush oozing a cowboy cologne, and the candy colored cliffs that surround. The world around has changed, yet these rare gems remain and the secrets that they hold.
Lauren has found breathtaking beauty in the dense forests of the north of New Mexico/Southern Colorado and attempts to capture the glorious scenery with oil pastel, oil paints, and/or acrylic landscapes. From farms, cowboys, and cabins, to the dramatic and purple and cerulean snowcapped mountains, you will experience the world through her eyes.
